PGDM in Finance Specialization

At ISBS, PGDM in Finance offers specialization to students to provide them career opportunities in global accounting and consult firms, including the big four accounting firms, manufacturing companies, banks, NBFCs, IT & ITES companies, broking firms and insurance companies. The PGDM in finance specialization is a business administration program that introduces students to financial literacy, money management, and accounting principles. The business administration curriculum includes courses in the fundamentals of management, business law, and customer service.

Students learn to analyze financial records, explore the Financial industries and develop an understanding of financial policies and laws. Topics of discussion include stocks and bonds, mortgages and loans, financial securities, and income and cash flow statements. Each of these programs, students study money management skills and examine the principles of accounting and finance, including how to analyze financial records. At the post-graduation level, students engage in research projects as well as classroom work, in addition to a thesis and potentially an internship.

The curriculum has been prepared in consultation with industry experts and is aligned to meet the needs of the industry. Students acquire industry-relevant skills through NISM certification courses, certification workshops on advanced excel, financial modelling and personal financial planning, simulation activities involving asset portfolio construction, group discussions, debates, webinars, industry visits and placement-focussed domain tests. We also arrange guest sessions by eminent industry experts and alumni to enable students to gain a perspective on industry trends.

What is more, we also expose students to fun learning activities through our Finance Club, which are mainly driven by students. Some of these activities include finance crosswords, quizzes, finance word scramble contest and finance skits. The whole objective of the Finance Club is to motivate students to participate in various extra-curricular and give them application-oriented exposure.
