Even the growth rate of the major sectors like Power, Retail, IT and Technology is also experiencing the aftershocks of the global recession. The accompanying woes like a weakening rupee and stuck investments, rising inflation and interest rates are inevitably making the environment extremely competitive. However, as far as the immediate future is concerned, it is predicted that India is now on the way to recovery and will recover more rapidly than other countries.
Social media is playing an amazing role in pulling the business sector out from such a crisis. It has grown exponentially over the last few years and has impacted the industry- consumer interaction in multiple ways. Social media has had and is continuing to have a huge influence on business, encompassing customer relationship management, market research, cost control initiatives, sales and recruiting.
We at Indira understand this paradigm shift. On the onset, heartiest congratulations on securing admission at the premier PGDM program of Indira School
of Business Studies.

pandemic situation. Every day we see an age-old organization with proven track record giving way to new startups built on the foundation of disruption. For these new kids on the block, disruption is not an event but the
very way of doing business. Young businesses like BYJU’s, AirBnB, OYO Rooms, UBER, OLA, Amazon, Flipkart,
Paytm, Facebook, to name a few, have come from nowhere and are already challenging the might of the wellestablished organizations. The businesses have moved online in a matter of one year. The world is increasingly
becoming more connected and interdependent in the way in which it never was. This clearly means that the
business landscape is changing rapidly, posing a big challenge to the workforce of tomorrow (i.e) one must not
only learn but also re-learn and up-learn all through the course of their professional career. It is important that
they possess the skills of tomorrow to remain on top of the game called business whether they pursue a
professional career or take an entrepreneurial plunge.
The biggest disruption of the century, the pandemic, beside other businesses, pushed education sector as well
into adopting tech-driven processes with very little time to manoeuvre. Like we always do, we came out a winner
